If you haven't already heard through the grapevine or saw the prep work first hand, The city of Philadelphia will be overhauling Dilworth Plaza at City Hall. All the ledges, stairs, and levels will be replaced by a green space, some fountains, and weird glass junk, but it may not be the end completely for skateboarding.

While checking out the article on The Architect's Newspaper I couldn't help but notice 7 LONG staggered marble ledges, but like any other construction project in the city, we can only HOPE they don't get wise on us and knob it at birth. We do however know a couple facts about this project.
But at the end of the day. We will always have "alot of walls... alot of FUCKING SHIT"
If this doesn't do it for you... Somethings wrong

The internet sure knows how to keep life... ummm... interesting

Every November in preparation for winter's freezing temperatures, the city of Philadelphia drains all public fountains. Today we will be talking about one fountain in particular...

The LOVE fountain. This fountain plays a huge part in Philadelphia's rich skateboarding history, and much like any world famous skate spot, the progression of skateboarding world wide. LOVE park has remained the predominate tourist attraction for Philadelphia skateboarding both pre and post Philadelphia's ass backwards decision to make it illegal, and with every wicked winters wind we see a wave of eager skateboards ready to toss their corpses down the gap all for the sake of skateboarding... ON video even made a video documenting this called "Fountain of Youth"
BUT... For every skateboarder ready to step up to the plate and land something, there lurks another mumbling his "could've, would've, should'ves"
Last week a couple stand up guys from the slightly warmer, sunnier left coast flew out here in hopes of doing there job... Skateboarding... Before the session started, a transplant from the suburbs walked up to one of the guys in hopes to dazzle him with a display of his newly developed "inner city hard-knock swagger" and tells him "Yo dawg I've been calling dat trick and if you do it Im'ma get you jumped.", and like a true skateboarder, the dude ignored him and landed his trick... 3rd try.
No "jumping" occurred, but the big talk continued. "Whatever dude, Im just going to do it switch!"
Well... I'm calling you out.
I have $100.00 cash out of my own pocket that says you will NOT land this trick switch in the next month. If you do... the money is yours, a handshake, and bragging rights. Till then... The stage is set brah... Best get jumping...
Oh yea. PS. Anyone who does it before him will get $200.oo
There was a beautiful memorial for pro surfer Andy Irons held yesterday. RIP Andy

Last Thursday the Exit team took a trip out to Brooklyn to skate The House of Vans, an "exclusive arts and events space". We met up at the shop around 3:30 and waited for the stragglers to all come meet up at the shop. Pushed off at about 4:30 in three cars. I rode with Kerry and Rob up and had some of the most ridiculous conversations about the likes of the opposite sex and then took a 40 minute detour in East Brunswick, NJ where we hunted down a liquor store to grab booze for the park. After asking just about every person I could find not from the area, I met a fine young college student who told me to "go down to the next stop light and turn at the 'big fucking shoprite'", at which point I immediately started to miss my Jersey roots. We got back on the road, and after a few bouts with traffic finally got to the park. PB, Scott, and Chris Clark opted to take a tunnel and showed up about an hour and a half after everyone else. Once we got there it was 4 hours of shredding, pizza and beer. Here are some pictures...
