I know there's a bit of a backlash against Tom Penny these days since he hasn't really aged into the graceful pro that Koston, Carroll, and a few others have effortlessly become in their 30s, but fuck that noise. I will always love Penny. There's really no way to explain how exciting it was to be watching videos when Penny was murdering it. There were always so many rumors about the drugs he was doing, the shit he was kickflipping over, the skaters he dissed and we ate all of that shit up wanting more and more and more. Anyway, we all know what happened after his 1 or 2 years of dominance, but I'm really happy to finally stumble onto a youtube like this that actually collects all his old footage in one place. Beware, it's a whole shit load of frontside flips, but it's also some of the most breathtaking skateboarding you'll ever see. At his best, Tom Penny made the impossible look mundane and nobody changed the way I look at skateboarding quite like he did. I don't skate ANYTHING like the dude, but if there is anybody I WISH I could skate like, it'd be Penny.
I don't care if he sucks now and wears pants that are way too baggy, dude will always be the king to me.
